Check A VAT Number

This site is free to use. Here you can check if a VAT number given to you by another trader is registered.

To use the Check A VAT Number service, you first need to log into your own VAT account, as HMRC has restricted this service to logged-in users.


When logging in you may see an option to use GOV.UK One Login. HMRC advise that this should not be used, you should continue to log in using your Government Gateway account.
