Check A VAT Number

This site is free to use. Here you can check if a VAT number given to you by another trader is registered.

To use the Check A VAT Number service, you first need to login to your own VAT account, as HMRC has restricted this service to logged-in users.


When logging in you may see an option to use a GOV.UK One Login. HMRC advise that this should not be used, you should continue to log in using your Government Gateway account.
